Can anyone please help, some years ago as part of a pay deal we were told that if we covered call for anyone off sick or if we had a shortage of engineers thus being on call more often we could book standby allowance. Does anybody have any copies of this agreement?

At my branch, if we have to cover call for anyone off sick or in the event of an engineering shortage, we claim

thats what we'd call a SICK rota.(eng on call say fri night and they ring in sick fri morning).they tried it at our place,we said yes as long as we got top dollar..double standby and x2 every hour we worked..they said no,so we said no,they tried to force it,we went to the union,union said it was illegal to force upon us,so we won and they have to find alternative arrangements,they said they can change the rota to suit,union said no you cant..so dont be bullied into it,if they need cover at less than 8hrs notice make a deal or dont do it..

This is the same at my branch (not that i do on call anymore), If you do more than 2 nights a week, you get
