I am in the process of selling a house which I moved out of 4 months ago the house is in Scotland and I now live in Northern Ireland. The Scottish house has an alarm which I never used because I didn't get the code from previous occupants. My old neighbour from Scotland called me this morning to tell me that they had a power cut last night and the alarm sounded for 20 minutes. The keyholder entered the house again today whereupon the alarm sounded again. So my questions are; What is the best way to get the alarm disabled? Can I do it myself? Should I get a local alarm company to do it? How long would it take? How much would it cost?

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

The house with the problem alarm is in Paisley PA2 and I would like an estimate of the cost for an engineer to resolve the problem on a Saturday (due to work commitments and my location).
