We took over an alarm it was originally installed maintained and mointored by British Gas so when it come to defaulting it you couldn,t because it would only default it to British Gas default setting. So had loads of trouble trying to get ways of defaulting it and engineer codes etc. So spoke to elverley who specialist in the DSC range and they advised us to contact British Gas so I did. Spoke to someone and they where ever so helpful (thank u who ever you are lol) they dialled in for us and reset the code got it sorted and that all lovley customer happy alarm monitored no probs. then my stupid stupid engineer (you know who you are) when to do a maintainance on it tryed putting the engineer code in wouldn,t work so read the book and deafulted it AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH all over again what the $^%^%%£$% forgot to do was you have to enter the user code *6 something to allow you in to the menu frame then enter the engineer code and now we have to go all over again and contact British Gas because the panel has defaulted to the British Gas setting what a nightmare. lol

This not much difference between a BG Panel and a std DSC panel, (apart from the eng code ;) )

The *6 5 before you go into engineer mode was put in for DD243 which is only on panels I think from ver 2.8.. Its got to be one of the easiest panels to programme should only take about 10 min :)

If you get stuck give me a shout, it would only take 10min over the phone :D

I can also dial into the panel if need be..

You can do it it lol Even elverley told when British Gas order the DSC it has the chip in it with British Gas,s programming hence why the chip version starts with BG****.4 etc when the panel is defaulted it defaults to British Gas,s setting and there engineer code not dsc which is **** something so the only other way around it is if you knew British Gas engineer code which I don,t think they would tell anyone lol what a nightmare.

***Don't post engineer codes in the Public forum, only in the trade section***

Hi granleyss

It helps if you have the BG manual (in pdf) with the default code ;)

On a average house you only need to charge about 6 things in eng menu to get the panel to work, its even easier than ADE panel :D
