Accenta 8 Mini Programming

Featured Replies

Hi,

Garage installation...to cut a long story short, I've stripped out an existing Accenta 8 Mini Panel (which I didn't have the code for) and refitted along with a new battery and new Texecom 1E Bell box. I've defaulted the panel and all seems to be working, except I can't get the alarm to set and go off! I think it is a programming problem. as I've been using the engineer manual from a G3 mini which I realise has slight differences in the programming codes. I appreciate I cannot directly ask for an Engineers Manual but can anyone let me have just the programming codes/paths as I have already have access to the engineers programming.

Thanks muchly

Marc

Hi ,

If you have defaulted the panel , it should'nt have any programming faults.Just put ya code in , and let it set.

If it beeps and indicates a zone , then that zone is open , and it wont set.

1. Yes the mains is on and a new battery in the panel.

2. Hmmm...with regard to the setting following defaulting - after defaulting I tried to set it up with the G3 Panel manual so I've probably changed something I shouldn't have!

I'll try defaulting it again tomorrow and see if that works. I still want to be able to program it though as i want to set double knock etc.

Also...the old bell box had a wire connecting the 'set' terminal on the box and panel, however the new bell doesn't have one so I have disconnected at the panel end - is this correct?

One more while I'm at it...the strobe only has 1 wire connection from the bell box to the panel, is this correct and am I right in thinking it should be connected to the 'Strobe -' on the panel as opposed to the 'strobe +'.

Sorry for firing loads of questions but I've been trying to sort it all out for about 2 weeks already!

Thanks chaps

i wonder have you checked your entryexit route is closed on exit ie check mag contacts are lined up properly.

Sorry should have said at the start - their is only a PIR, no mag contacts. Altough I am considering changing to a mag contact as I will be away from the garage majority of the time and fear false alarms annoying the neighbours from moths/spiders setting off the PIR.

Thanks

I know that now! You have to appreciate I was working blind to start with as I had no manuals and they are not the easiest things to come by if you are not in the trade. I did manage to get hold of a copy of the G3 manual but didn't originally realise the differences.

I have managed to obtain a copy of the Mini 8 manual now and it has solved all the problems. Now I can program the panel correctly all is well!

Thanks for your time and advice though, still appreciated. cheers
