October 11, 200619 yr comment_125685 Hi, I need a weatherproof reader for setting/unsetting a system im about to install, does anyone know of any manufacturers which have these. I have found a way to do it with a remote and reciever but its expensive. Its not a big install but the customer wanted it this way so theres would be no entry route without disarming first. Any help appreciated, Thanks Link to comment https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/13011-weatherproof-prox-reader-help/ Share on other sites Share on LinkedIn Share on X Share on Facebook {lang="reddit_text" Share via email Share on Pinterest
 October 11, 200619 yr comment_125688 Pyronix Prox-R sounds like it would fit the bill if the panel in question has a keyswitch option for set/unset. The PCB is set in epoxy, so it's weather proof, but you might want to seal around the unit with clear silicone after install to stop moisture getting onto the terminals. October 11, 200619 yr comment_125703 guardtec do one for their 800 range weve been looking at it from" the single room shop perspective" it comes with small magnetic shunt locks so you can set everything to N/A and get confirmed for monitoring purposes without the need for an Entry Timer or Entry route which in a single room shop would leave it slightly exposed Life is like a box of choclates.....if you dont get there first your left with all the naff ones Link to comment https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/13011-weatherproof-prox-reader-help/#findComment-125703 Share on other sites Share on LinkedIn Share on X Share on Facebook {lang="reddit_text" Share via email Share on Pinterest
 October 11, 200619 yr comment_125720 careful with these as if you remove the reader you could disarm the alarm As James says, but the scanny 9651 has keyswitch facility. Dave! Dave! Dave! Vandamme swore you should kick him out, he said ATS I don't see why the ATS (sorry couldn't find a spit emoticon), can't see why the ATS prox reader doesn't comply? It acts as an access reader and three swipes of the fob and the system sets. One swipe in the morning and this unlocks the door and unsets the alarm. Won't help the OP though, can't see him having an ATS installed. October 11, 200619 yr comment_125739 Gardtec 595, or the CPX for small instal. they do internal and external readers and work a treat. go a bit further fit radio rx and radio fobs, how much more weather proof do you want? problem with no exit/entry timer is user's will set from outside, that means they will not see any error or advisory messages on ths display when setting, and unlikely to read it when unsetting i.e. activation, low batt , mains fail etc. so nothings purfect regs alan If you think education is difficult, try being stupid!!!!
