I hope someone can help me.....

We have the above alarm and I need to change the battery, however I can't find the instructions (I filed them very safely, that safely that I can't find them !!!)

I am stuggling to get the front off the contol panel to see what battery I need.

Can anyone advise as I am starting to panic in this bad weather if the electricity goes off my alarm will be driving me and everyone else on the street mad.

You are not trying to get the cover off the keypad are you??.

The battery is in the end station , a big box usually metal , sometimes plastic , about A4 size , usually under the stairs .The metal one has 4 screws , straight forward.

There was a plastic version with keypad onboard.

Beware as dangerous / lethal voltages exist in the end station.When you remove the cover , the tamper alarm should activate, put your user code in to cancel.

not being able to get the lid off is a sure sign of needing to call a engineer.
