September 12, 200619 yr comment_119676 I have lived my house for 3 years, and last night the internal alarm kept going off, reporting that the battery had failed. I bought a new battery and have opened up the control box. The wires on my current battery are wrapped around the terminals..with lots of other "not too professional" wiring pratices being used. When trying to slowly remove the old battery the live wire came away from the main board...i need some sort of wiring diagram/photo so i can see where to connect the battery to the main board.. I have no service contract and have no idea who installed the alarm system. Calling service engineers is not alot of help, as they say that if they did not install it they don't really won't to touch it.... Please help as i do not like having my alarm disabled....... I am not sure which fuse it is connected to in the fuse box, but if the battery is disconnected and then i turn off the mains power, when i connect the battery and then restore the mains will it still remember all the zones and stuff, or will i need to help in reprograming etc.....? Your calling the wrong service engineers then, most good companies will know the scanny 9600 and would easily look after it for you. The panel has a NVM Non Volitile Memory so should not forget its programing so long as your observe static electricity precautions. But I am concerned on how you intend on reattaching the battery lead to the pcb.
