M800 Keypad Chirp

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

Wired up the Menvier 800 with the two Xnodes. Did the factory reset as per Installation instructions, all of which I have.

System correctly boots with no alerts (cover is on so not to create a tamper). Only problem is I'm getting a clicking sound which starts shortly after the system boots. It is coming from both the keypads which have thier own Id's correctly set and both have the same firmware.

The internal sounder is doing the usual 2 tone chirp. No errors showing up on the Loader software either.

Is this a voltage issue? Have checked and re-checked all the network cabling which is fine.

Have all the manuals, but this is not documented. Hmm......

Any ideas.

Many thanks

Jonathan.

I'd say interference check dc voltage for induction have had same sort of thing cleared up with an ACT 1313 module

Is the clicking a regular one? or is it random once its started? Sounds like the keypads are slightly sounding out the digtial signals that get sent along the network between the keypads and panel etc, i think I know the sound you might mean, Ive heard something similar on a larger TS-2500 install, I can't honestly remeber what was causing it, it may have been voltage drop to the RKP.

M series are very acute to induced ac the limit is about 5 vac.

Use your meter and go from earth to +dc and then from 0vdc if the reading is over 5vac you may need to reroute cables or fit a ACT1313 filter.

cheers
