marksandsparks
I've tried to make sense of previous posts but need an answer more directly to this question please. I know that alarm cable for PIR's shouldn't be run near mains cable. But does this also apply to the alarm cable for my magnetic contacts, keypads, external sounder and communicator? If so I've dropped a clanger. Link to comment https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/11300-wiring-near-mains-not-pir/ Share on other sites
morph
Yes. You should keep all cabling away from mains cables. Minimum distance 30cm. Alarm, data, telephones, TV\satellite, doorbell etc.... And it's 300mm, not 30cm. If this is correct then segregated/partioned distribution plastic trunking as used round offices etc cannot comply!!! ?????
