Flame Detectors

Featured Replies

We are looking at providing automatic detection to a large exhibition hall. Rectangular, 30x40m and + 20m high.

The structure of the place is concrete, access to the ceiling (flat) is very limited.

Insurance company wants some detection !

Thoughts were... aspirating - could be installed outside with capillaries but borderline for height etc.

Beams - possible, but very difficult to get access at this height, could mount them lower but that means more of them... not pretty.

Final thought were flame detectors mounted in the corners at around 10 m up. Am aware of the various technologies, UV/IR/UVIR and IRIR, but can anybody recommend a decent detector?

if you say beams are possible but difficult to access why don't you try for a beam with a low level controller.

such as the low maintenance, self aligning type.

They have detectors for APC:s and have equipped Hartwall Arena in Helsinki with their flame detectors.

Top quality indeed but check their web first which is in English as well.

If you want them we can supply products and pricing. Naturally our export services can take care of delivery to UK or where ever you need them.

thanks Georgahti I'll have a look when i'm back in the office.

Graeme, don't want to use beams (even the self aligning ones which are very good by the way) due to the shear pain and anguish of having to to get access platforms up to roof level. - listed building, poor access etc.
