Ha ha yeah like....

I know - paper work excercise and only will apply when someone gets toasted (not all landlords are registered) and even local authority housing doesn't apply in loads of their existing properties (2+ storey flats,sorry,apartments!).
the bigger question is why is your Landlord asking you to fit the smoke alarms??

i've informed the land lord that battery operated smoke dector will not comply with the reg's.

but he is happy to go with them.. now i can only tell him what ruals are. this is why i asked the question. i was not 100% sure that battery smokes cound not be used. so what i have told the land lord is true.

now if he wish to say thats all he want, so be it. thats his choice. i've done my part.
