  1. Just following on from the above. Purchased some generic prox tags from the ebay, and registered the first prox tag on the alarm fine. Unfortunately, the second prox tag throws an error that the tag is already registered. I guess thats what going generic gets me. All the six tags do the same. I'm assuming that these are all programmed with the same rfid code. Is there a quick and easy solution to this, or shall I just go an buy the Eaton originals? edit - just noticed Barsnakes's link above. Must have missed that originally. Will these have the same issue as the ebay ones I picked up? Thanks all nate.
  2. So just wanted to update and wrap up this. Thanks to all the help and pointers, I updated the wiring as explained above, this afternoon, and all is working fine. No unexpected issues and alarm appears to be working just fine. Thank you all! nate
  3. Thank you both, I'll have a look at this during the week and post back what I find after making the four changes. Thank you for clearing it up for me, as you can tell, this isn't my bread and butter, but much appreciate the help. My parents had this changed a while ago, but didn't mention any problems etc. reported by the installer - Hopefully it was just lack of knowledge, rather than an outstanding problem. Fingers crossed! Thank you!
  4. Sorry, hectic weekend. I'm a little confused but I this is what I think needs to be done: 1. Remove the link (Black loop) in the panel between 0v and TR 2. Put a link in between 0v and tmpf in the sounder 3. The green can be left as is. Does that sound right? thx nate
  5. Ok, so remove the wire running from 0v to TR, but leave the white cable in TR? And Green to be left as it is? thank you!
  6. Sorry is it not wired correctly? Whats the correct wiring? is tmpf not correct?
  7. Not sure. Tbh. Managed to get to the sounder and took this pic of the internals. Green is terminated at TMPR at the sounder.
  8. Hi all, Had our Alarm upgraded a while ago, and kept original sounder for various reasons. The panel is an Eaton G2SM panel and the bell / sounder is a Risco Novagard 2. Recently opened the panel to check the exact model, and noticed the green wire from the sounder isn’t connected at the panel end. Everything seems to work ok, the sirens sound and the lights flash when the Alarm is set off and the red LED’s run when not armed. Anyone have any thoughts on how this wire should be connected and whether the rest of the sounder wiring looks ok? Any advice welcome. thanks Nate.
  9. Thanks, seen a fair few listed as such, will check them out. One question, is there anything specific or extra secure with the original Eaton tags that would mean i should just get those? Thanks!
  10. Hi all, We’ve an eaton G2SM alarm panel and want to setup prox tags. Looking around I see the official Eaton Prox Tags but noticed a lot of generic rfid tags. Considering some of these generic rfid tags but wondering if they’re worth looking at? If so, what should I be looking for. I understand the prox tags are low frequency 125hz tags, but any suggestions on what other specific requirements i should look for? I see a lot of these are 4100 chip types. Are these compatible? thanks for the advise nate
