I’m a retired EE who (years ago) purchased a complete DSC system from a distributor in Louisville KY. I installed it myself in my mountain home in central WV. Programmed it myself using the DSC PC-Link cable. It’s still running trouble free but now I’m getting old and slow so I need to increase the entry and exit times. I found the DSC cable and CD and set up the software on a laptop - the original laptop died some years ago so I don’t have the original programming that’s in the panel. I intended to simply read the setup from the PC5010, make a few changes and write it back... I now find that when I hit *8 to enter installer mode, the keypad says that feature is not available. I have all the manuals and know all the required codes. I know I didn’t lock it but I can’t figure out the problem. I’ve tried resetting the panel by pulling the batteries and AC but that didn’t help. I’m willing to pay someone that can walk me through this (without defaulting the panel) but I’m located in an extremely rural area and haven’t been able to find anyone with any DSC knowledge or experience. Any chance someone on here might be willing to help?
