    Old post, but I've been through this exact same issue so may help others. This error message is very deceiving, it has actually connected but in a lot of cases (in my experience) it shows that error message. Go through the steps as you did before and wait for the same error to present itself. Wait two minutes after this message pops up then close the message, as well as the browser window/tab. Attach the ethernet cable from alarm panel to the module and wait another minute or so. At this point, it should work!
