thanks James - when I had the time I swapped it to Z1 and its now OK on entry - I thought I'd leave it on 2 originally thinking any zone could be programmed anyhow - obviously I am thick

thanks folks - entry door has its own zone (2) every other works fine, the door opening causes immediate alarm. tried "entry time" set to 30 secs (03) and that didn't work, so maybe its the program thing. set timed zone says - Press [PROG] to give a choice of programs. LED’s 1, 2 and 3 are flashing. • Select program [1, 2 or 3]. If program 1 is selected, LED 1 is ON. -------- and I assume prog 1 (default anyway) is the one • Press [2] to enter into Timed Zones. The first zone can now be set as timed or untimed. • To edit the other zones press [Number] to go to a particular zone. -------- 2 toggled on for timed but as Sixwheeled say - should that zone be inhibited? - cos being thick I am confused at this point

small prob with Optima compact gen 4 - LED only. all set up and all working OK - but although exit timer fine (as default), on entrance alarms immediately when door open - and can't seem to make the set up work to give an entry time. went 'timed zones' , 'entry time' setting procedure and no change, then set back to factory default (which should give 30 secs) - no change

no need for a picture Al-yeti, you are indeed a star - it was the ribbon cable - pushed the connector home and bingo. Can't thank you enough, get down the boozer - I'll buy you a pint. what a bleeding relief!

to Al- yeti - no - except for a slight 'beep' when the 3 of the default 0123 code is pressed. Mr happy - Ah - not sure - so on the as delivered panel (per diagram) - PA - TAMP and SCB are still there - plus TAMP on the left hand site connectors

connected yes - as this, tried with nothing too.

Newbie on here - am not an engineer, but have some experience in wiring, have installed a few systems successfully, though straightforward and simple ones. Jut fitted a new Optima compact gen4 (LED and no external keypad) and as expected - in alarm state as soon as its powered up, so logic(?) i enter the default code - no change, try the engineers code - nothing - I am stuck with it. no faults showing, not even tamper on cover, but just the red power LCD, as though armed/set I believe. Have done both reset to factory settings and reset user codes procedures (link from SET to PA or TAMP respectively) - no change there. set up 'as it arrived' apart from my 3 zones connected, maybe I've got a link in that shouldn't be or vice versa? grateful for any ideas anyone?
