    Galaxy G2

    Orderd myself a G2 to have a play about with. Thinkng about getting an ip module aswell and setting that up. Can you get an app for it ?.

    When i worked at the arc one of the installers used to ring us to set his alarm on his house this was using software called galaxy gold just basically keypad on a screen, do they still do this ?

    • Does Group A1 have to be selected for it to set the system do you know ?.

    I have not set up groups on the system though but thought this might have to be put into the system for it to SET, Just assuming group A1 is everything on the Panel Circuits ?

    Galaxy G3 Strobe

    Hi Guys just a quick one regarding strobe output on the panel where do I connect the strobe neg single wire from EWD. I have connected it on RIO2 on panel doesn't work. Do I have to put a neggative on the other left hand terminal of output 2 for it to work / switch over ?

     

    Output 1002 is Strobe Latched

    First Dt906 Intellisense

    Was tasked with setting up a dt906 for fist time today not a bad little unit i must say so. Just got to finish galaxy 3-520 tomoz. Last time i had my hands on a galaxy was the flex in 2013 at college lol

    Swapped out some old thing that was up so had to use junction box to extend cable though im sure u guys might have done something differant but with me being newbie like :)

    Ewd Cleaning / Removal

    Does anyone else actually clean there EWDs ? Only takes a minute if you got the ladder out it always looks better when clean well unless its weathered badly. Plus its your firms advertisement as well, the smarter you make the company look possibly get more work.

     

    another pet hate is seeing a nice new bell box with 3 old ones on same house, just think what a lazy sod so potential customers can see this probably think the same too. Plus why advertise the competition.

     

    Or am i just a bit OCD lol

    Little story now back in 2007 worked in a ARC, we took on a new installer and had to upgrade the software from mini bold to bold Gemini. We where just all used to Digis on Fast Format, RedCare, Webway. Never dealt with Contact ID before got all sorts signals we never seen before. The alarm firm would tell customers anything to get it.installed firm has been on watchdog too lol 

     

    So when ever we used to get a Burglary Cancel we just shut it down, Cant mention too much, But one morning we received a Burglary yes was via the front door, so you know the drill on this one. we then received Cancel Code, Shut down jobs a good one, Turned out the front door had been booted in and by 4 blokes in balaclavas the guys then been ripped bloke out of his bed at gunpoint and forced to turn off the alarm. Then his safe was swiftly emptied. In the meantime they are waiting like lemons for the police to arrive........

     

    Then the alarm co go out programme in a duress code for them, then we get a new procedure call every customer even if a cancel or restore is received as it gives them the opportunity to give the duress password over the phone.

     

    I know they did stop duress codes at one point didn't they ?? Last time i looked you could now use a duress code but has to be identified as such can not use same channel as Personal Attack & it must be agreed with the force issuing the URN. Is this still the case. and do you guys use them much ?

    Help With Ecs Card

    Good Evening all,

     

    Been looking at getting myself a ECS Card Unskilled Grade as don't have NVQ3 & 17th Edition, Just to get me on a site. Booked a place on a H&S Course but not paid yet cant see the point if i am unable to get a card.

     

    I have a C&G certificate 1853-02 (Intruder)

     

    But the application form only shows C&G1852/01, C&G1851, C&G1852.

     

    I can only assume they must not accept the 1853 for a card ??

    Scantronic Bugs

    The guy at who did our course loved scantronic panels kept going on about LIMS us young ones where like whats he on about lol then he explained, I have only worked on a few must admit they seem pretty solid once you get round the programming. Wondered when i defaulted my first ever one put engineer code in kept pressing it in and wouldnt have it, only forgot.to press a certain number first. Remember that for next time
