Texeom 24 issues
I would go eol to be honest, if the detectors don't have resistor the kit comes with 2k2 and 4k7 and 3k3, you can use the 2k2(eol) and 4k7(alarm), or 3k3 for both and wiring type would be double pole/eol, rather then wiring type as normally closed as you have suggested. then you are looking at a tamper you are only looking at one device.

Starting out on my own
Why would you like to go it alone, and have you looked at all the costs involved? Subbying for your current employer may be okay, is your employer in the know about your plans and agreeable? I chose not to do any subbying and get my own work and building everything from scratch it its not impossible, depends on your competition locally. I haven't gone down the URN route yet, I now have a company that's prepared to help out with that side if I wish (or so they say,not formalised yet and haven't taken them up on the offer, just not sure its right for me right now). Both SSAIB and NSI asked for a minimum trading period as well as appropriate staffing levels or buddy company, I wasn't happy with my dealings with either organisation to be honest, each time I have been in touch, as for police response not sure that would happen these days even with all the paperwork correct, don't forget the fees involved. so think about your costs, customer base, competition and how much you need to live on and look to see if there is any schemes in your local area to help you get started.

the detection devices are wired double pole, so on the 24 you would have to wire the alarm into one zone and the tamper as a global or spare zone. What does the panel see in the event log, as this will tell you what it has registered in order. If you cant set the alarm panel, then ensuring you have left walk test properly (ie come out of walk test rather than the engineer time out), exited the menus if using the keypad, set the alarm with the user code, if the arming mode hasn't been changed the panel will be looking for the door to open then close, rather than a timed exit. As for the time and date like many panels that's because the system has had a complete power down and reboot.

Risco Agility - stays in exit mode forever
do you have the LED on the door sensor turned on? (you can see if the door reed was activated if it was turned on). are you using the one way door contact or the 2 way? Once the exit mode is started opening and closing the door when the zone is programed as final exit should set the system, Changing the zone to a e/e zone type would make it a time set. The app sets it very quickly as theres no need for the app to see the door open and close. what is the signal strength for the door contact?

False Alarms on Optima XL6
probably the battery, but running it so low can damage the panel. just run without the battery connected and does it still false alarm? I suspect not. Then replace the battery and see what happens, if it messes up again then replace the panel.

just some of my customers ask about the different things on offer and what it costs and saves them and insurance gets mentioned.

Pyronix Enforcer
so your customers don't ask what they are getting for their money?

Pyronix Enforcer
If its monitored it does need to be installed to the relevant standard, if its not monitored or its self monitored what you declare the system as makes it relevant to how its installed and affects your liability as the installer and the risk to the client and their insurance premium?.

Is it bells only, does it really need to comply?

currently it appears you have an internal ip address and not an external one. Once the notifications are setup and you have the app to update ip, it will take care of itself. Just need to make sure you have the panel setup correctly should be sia and not contact id, send sia text selected. if version 3 then also need protocol options 2 set to the same comport the com ip unit is on (com1)

Hikvision Hdtvi Any Good?
any good I define as does it do what you and the customer want for the price you both want to pay. does it have issues, well I think so and its on the bits that my customers are asking for where it falls down, and not 100% happy, so I am waiting on what can be done to make it the product for me to use. Crazy situation when nothing these days works perfectly on all the features they have available, that said it does have a lot of nice features that work well.

Texecom Comwifi
You don't need a dns, as the notifications send the ip out the app then updates with the lasts ip just like the dns would.(not quite the same process). if you have set things up according to the manual, whilst I am sure I could sort this out for your remotely, I need to know what's what as it is now and I don't want to offend you but need to see it. If you want to discuss give us a call by all means and see what I can do

if you can use the app on the iphone, then the unit is working, most likely on the internal ip address and your connected to your wireless router. If you cant access externally on another wireless network or mobile data connection then your port forwarding isn't right or your dynamic ip has changed or you have an internal ip address assigned in your app. if your notifications are working then this wouldn't be an issue as the app gets updated with the latest ip address when it polls in to the Texecom server. The app set for update ip when you open the connection for that system the ip updates if its selected on the app. not being able to do a test call suggest that the panel isnt programmed correctly to send out the notifications. however you need to know a little about what your doing with the panel and routers, version 3 elite panels would require a little more work.

Danmini Ya-500 Gsm Wired / Wireless Manual Request
When a consumer purchases goods from a business, they will have rights under the Sale of Goods Act 1979 as amended. This legislation states that goods supplied by businesses must be of satisfactory quality and fit for purpose. This means that they must be safe, free from minor defects, durable, amongst other things. Where this is not the case, the seller of the goods can be held in breach of contract and may have to offer a remedy to the consumer. If you have had the item for a fairly short time, it may be possible to for a full refund, as you may not have had the goods for a long enough period of time to be deemed to have ‘accepted’ them in the eyes of the law. This period of time can vary depending on the type of item you have. Important bit:- You can also make a claim for the original and return postage. Essentially, you should not be at a financial loss as a result of the breach of contract. Although eBay have made a ruling, their decision is not legally binding and hence you can claim under the Sale of Goods Act. this was three years ago and consumer direct was closing later that year, and advised after they closed citizen advice. If you dont have clear instruction on how to utilise the product it is useless but how you that is another issue.

I seem to recall that under UK law, the consumer is not to be out of pocket, but you would have to check how that works. Ebay policy is not necessarily UK law is what i was told a few years back see if I can find out the source and the exact quote.

Engineer Code For Menvier M-Series
be useful, better still if the system was unique after every visit, think I could incorporate that. lets not get ahead of ones self, its something for me to look at tomorrow and a basic app to do the donkey work.

Engineer Code For Menvier M-Series
lol you wouldnt see my codes on the list, I was making a statement that it be nice to have a list of codes cant remember the post but someone said they had a list. still working on my engineers uniqe code calculator.

Engineer Code For Menvier M-Series
I have had a few systems that have been locked and not all of them have back doors. If possible I opt for default alarm codes rather than default the entire panel. A list of what the other companies use would be useful though.

Engineer Code For Menvier M-Series
Depends on how far you want to take this, I am only aware of 1 person making a legal challenge (so they say) because the engineer wouldnt release the engineers code/ or reset it to the default. Based on that case I would say it is possible to make the engineer change the engineers code and provide it to the end user. However I would expect a fee to be paid, that fee should be inline with there fees to attend site and perform a minimum duty, as the process is short it should not cost any more than there minimum. Any system where the engineers code is disclosed to the end user loses their right to any warranty that would normally be offered. In my opinion it would be unreasonable for an engineer to disclose an engineers code that compromises all his systems, or for any system they are offering any guarantee or responsible for. All my clients that request the engineers code are told that by doing so there is no warranty as I can not guarantee the integrity of the system it then becomes a choice. The engineers code where its displayed in full prior to being changed, is changed before the end user changes it to their preferred code. That is reflected on their receipt. I went and fixed a system last week changed the engineers code, the customer said and I quote "I want the engineers code so I can maintain the system". Which you may consider a bit strange because they were playing around with the system, got it in a mess and called me to sort it out in the first place. Fine, I changed the engineers code to the default and let them change it to something else (they let the property), showed the system working and advised them that beyond that I can accept no liability for any future issue as I have no control of the system. The codes can be defaulted on that system even if its a ball ache by a competent installer. My customer is always right, but as a result of their decision may lose some of their rights to warranty. You simply cant expect an engineer to be responsible for a system if the end user has access to the engineers code.
