The E080-4 will only work on the older V1.X Flex panels. The V3 panels use the faster intellibus for comms devices and camera PIR's and it requires the A083  Ethernet module.

That’s great info, how do I know what version Flex I have? I now have both Ethernet modules and I’ve connected up the -10 one but my router doesn’t see it. I’m trying to get the app up and running in my phone. All the led’s on the module are as expected and I’m not getting any faults in the keypad.

So what option menu are you going to then?

How many outputs does the flex 20 support?

No option menu, it just wouldn’t configure when I exited eng mode. Luckily I have a couple of PSU’s in the loft so I could free up a pair for the data. All good now thanks.

  3. Hi guys,

so I just swapped my g2-12 for the flex 20, I have a Rio in the loft so had to upgrade. I’ve daisy chained  two keypads and the Rio but I can’t see the inputs or outputs on the Rio. It’s been a while since I touched galaxy but I have fitted hundreds, am I doing something silly or have things changed?
ive addressed it 2 then 3, tried 2 different rio’s and I’m getting the 0.9 second on and off green led on the Rio.
Panel, 2 keypads neither Max, one Rio, panel can see 5 system modules.

    thanks in advance guys.

As above you need to request it then I'll sort it. I need to know your SW account

Hi James, I sent you a message with my SW account email. Is that all you need? Thanks again.

  5. Hi guys,

I’m going to upgrade my galaxy g2-12 to a flex. I only have about 12 zones and realistically I won’t need many more however I’ll probably got for the 50. Does the 50+ have all the extras? The Ethernet module, output board etc?

also, any recommendations where to buy? I’d prefer to buy online, CTS Direct the cheapest?

    thanks guys.

Plus batteries are a consumable nobody is going to want them without proper documentation and a route for return

Hey Peter, you’d be surprised what people buy at the right price. All batteries are from Yuasa can be checked for date of manufacture.

There are zones, number of users, log size and links. For the home, if automation is expected at a later date,  links are important. If no automation, then the FX20 is fine.

I’ve already automated the G2 12 with WiFi relays and solder tails to WiFi reed switches. I’m thinking I just find the problem with the keypad and stick with the  12. Thank you so much for your help, really appreciate it.

The g2-12 panel supports 4 keypads. As per nova, the max zones are 12 on your pcb.

The flex 20 is entry level, with the fx100+ offering many links for automation at a later date. The metal case flex is almost the same pcb as the plastic case with the exception of tamper connector and CPU RF can. It's also the same enclosure as your g2-12, just extra metal to house the PSU and pcb. And of course, the metal case cannot house GSM or RF portal modules.

The most recent flex firmware V3.51 has more features that make it more suitable for self monitoring and app control.  I would probably go for the plastic enclosure with GSM, Ethernet and RF portal all mounted internally.

Thanks for that reply, very useful. One more question if that’s ok, I’m assuming the only difference between the flex20+ and the 100+ is the amount of inputs? I will never have more than 20 zones.

I wont need GSM but ethernet and radio are most likely.

    Thanks again.

  9. Hi guys,

Looking for a bit of info. Moved from Alarms to door access some time ago so my intruder knowledge is a bit rusty.

I fitted a galaxy g2 12 in our house, I had one in the shed and we needed something. I had both a MK7 and a MK8 keypad connected up and both were working. I tried to add a Rio to the bus and now only one keypad works. I’ve checked the Honeywell data comparison sheet but the G2 12 isn’t even on it lol.

Question 1 is, does this panel support more than one keypad? It definitely did.

Question 2, Is the flex 20 any good? Obviously I want to use my existing setup so any upgrade would be Honeywell. I’m not a fan of plastic housings but I can see why it’s useful for wireless. Is the metal housing flex the same unit except the housing?

thanks in advance guys, it’s been a very long time since I was on here giving advice.

  10. Hi Guys,

I used to be an active member here years ago but having a kid stole all my spare time. Anyway, I have a few Flex questions, a few you have probably been asked before.

I want the flex 20, I need it to be wireless (zones, not bell or keypad) and I need it to work with the App. I have had a look at the paperwork on the honeywell site but I'm not 100% sure. I may have an old radio portal and some wireless detectors in the loft, maybe from a G3 install, will they work? Maybe that's confusing it a little.

    Thanks in advance guys.

    Steve.

I stopped fitting intruder a couple of years ago and moved to door access, that's why I don't have a clue about the flex, doh.
