Hi,
I have recently commisioned a school in birmingham, a galaxy g3-96 panel and have had an issue with setting differnt areas with a tag, after setting each user up the with the same access rights and areas as the user with a tag, it seems that the tag sets all areas, going stragiht to a timed set but the codes do give me the option of setting each area individually.
After speaking to a colleuge he's under the impression that this is the case with g3's ,can only set different areas wtih a code and not a tag.
Is this the case ??
cheers

you have restricted the keypads to the relevant groups?

however the max reader in that keyoad is a separate device and that also needs to be restricted to the relevant area. It defaults to all groups.

Also assigned tags to keypads/groups.
As above with max readers too.

You say its commisioned, yet not working correctly as such.
How much experience have you and your friend had with Galaxy?

cheers for the replies,
yes the dd243 is on but this only restricts the keypad on entry and i have assigned the tag to each group. However as i say the code allows me to set each area individually and the tag goes straight to timed set, setting all areas.
What i think i may have to do is instead of using the one code, then set up 3 different codes for the 3 different areas and turn off the dd243, but that then doesnt comply to industry standards right ?
i only have 3 years experience, so i am still learning, my colluge does have 15 years experience however and does know his stuff.
Thanks again.

You missed the point.
Assign the tags to their own groups.
Assign tags to certain keypads.
Its all there in the programming.

So do you want certain fobs to set certain groups or do they have a choice?

so you have 1 keypad that is arming different groups?

if so you needc to enable group restrict on the max reader and select which group for each user.

dd243 keypad is totally different as that just prevents pin use on entry.

you need to restrict the max reader and is a * function.

If I understand your problem correctly you want the tag to give you group choice when offerd to the keypad so that you can select which groups to set, is this correct?
If so when assigning groups to the tag press the star. This should give you the group choice option. Without the star the tag will try to set all groups it has access too.

Hope this helps.

Steve.
