Strange Problem - Help Required.

Featured Replies

Hi Folks

I have a strange problem with my house alarm. It is an Advantage ZX6

A while ago we had a power cut to our house, when the power went off our house alarm started going off? Once the power came back on the alarm was still going off. I could not stop the alarm from sounding, so I ended up disconnecting the fuse to kill the alarm!

The alarm is still active and whenever I re-connect the fuse the alarm sounds?!

I have two problems at hand:

1. The alarm was in the house when we first moved in and so I don't have the code.

2. How do I stop the alarm going off

Would the alarm have sounded when the power went off because the battery is dead?

Any help here would be greatly received.

Thanks

1/2: You need your alarm to be defaulted / serviced by a pro alarm engineer

maybe post your location and someone here might be able to sort it out or search yellow pages for alarm shops close to you.

The only way to sort the code out is do a factory reset which is an engineer function.

If you don't use it then why reconnect it? If you do want to use it then I would recommend you have an engineer call to service the system and also reset the user code\put a decent panel in.
