Hi,

Just been burgled so am looking to install or have installed an alarm system that has the following features, if anyone can recommend good quality devices I should look at or get installer quotes on I'd really appreciate it;

System needs,

GSM dialer with SMS

Wired in main house (3 up 3 down)

wireless to outbuildings (as extension in progress for next year at least)

separate zones switchable for nighttime etc

at least 3 entry zones/keypads

would like to have;

ethernet / TCPIP connectivity

future expandability, hookup to PC system with TCPIP cameras.

Thanks in advance, I really appreciate any advice you can provide. I'm a reasonably competent DIY'er, with extensive electronics experience but may decide on an installer due to product knowledge and available install time.

Regards

Youve come to the right place, lots of help will be given. However a lot of the advice for the system youre asking for will be limited and you will be gently directed to having it installed by one of the many competent(when they are compus mentus) installers here. B)

Also, what you are asking for will not come cheap.

The opinions I express are mine and are usually correct!

(Except when I'm wrong)(which I'm not)

Hmm, well I expected as much, do you think it will be much more than £1000 or am I way off base?

The install will be fairly straightforward due to he house design, much of the wiring can be centralised through the main trunk of the house, plus, I'm not so picky on neatness at this stage as the main part of the house will be totally refurbished in a year or so (plaster off in many areas).

Expandability is pretty key though since we will be adding another four rooms into the equation later.

Thanks.
