I was searching to find out about a fault with my (old) (self-installed) AJ600 panel. As I press each key to set it, I don't get a 'beep' from the panel. I haven't actually entered the full code as I'm not sure what would happen. Seems to me that either the thing that 'beeps' has packed up, and that otherwise everything is OK, OR, something else has packed up. But general advice from your experts who answer the many Q's about A1, seems to be 'bin it'. So I'll do that unless there's something really simple like switching off then switching on again. Those with remote key pads seem popular - just wonder that it's another thing to go wrong - or come in one day to find flat battery in the remote and can't disable the alarm. Might as well replace the siren box at the same time. That would solve the worry that existing siren connections are not compatible with the new panel.
