matthew.brough
Thought you already had SQL server running? I do on a few other servers but reading through the setup guide it talks about installing it locally and installing multiple instances for reasons that are not yet clear. I wouldn't dare use the SQL servers that MAS is installed on just incase it breaks something. Bit misleading though as it talks about SQL Express but then says features like persistant chat require full fat. www.securitywarehouse.co.uk/catalog/
Alpat Systems
We have 2 main servers running VM on both, one has MS Exchange, SQL, AD the other has Lync, share point and acts as a back domain controller. If I remember correctly you cant run Lync, Exchange & SQL on the same physical server. (although this may be from when we had MS Communicator)
matthew.brough
we have 3 domain controllers that are on separate virtual servers 2 exchange lync is on it's own. Do you need sharepoint to use parts of lync? www.securitywarehouse.co.uk/catalog/
Alpat Systems
Not really, think the only thing we can do within Share point is see the Lync's users presence indicator, and search on the users credentials. We have it integrated with Outlook & office. Mainly use it from within Outlook though.

Alpat Systems
I did the original communicator install, but not the Lync upgrade. I'm MCSA>MCSE qualified, not the latest but up to Windows 2003, but we have a couple of guys who are current MCSE
matthew.brough
Know any guys who would know how to configure Lync who would like to rent me an hour of their time to save me reading through tons of stuff? Happy to get it to the installed stage but wouldn't mind cheating on the config of it if possible www.securitywarehouse.co.uk/catalog/
