Guest mikechids
I have a castle care-tech MESSENGER, I want to connect to my alarm panel to send a SMS to my mobile when my alarm is activated. The Instructions for wiring the telephone line aren`t too clear, can someone enlighten me... There are five input terminals.. 1. Line A IN 2. Line B IN 3. Line A OUT 4. Line B OUT 5. Telecom Ground. The Diagram says connect to terminals 1 & 2.... Can somebody tell me which telephone wires to use? I looked in my telephone socket and there seems to be three connected, I presume one of them is Telecom ground. How do I tell the other two apart? amateurandy
Ummmmm. I suggest you check out BT wiring, there's lots of info on the internet. My understanding of a normal domestic setup is: 1 and 6 are NEVER used. 2 and 5 are the main circuit, don't think there's any specific polarity. 3 is the bell signal. This is generated by the components in the master socket. The external wire to your house will have only 2 wires. THERE IS NO EARTH. 4 can be used as an earth in some commercial PABX installations. 5 can also be 0V or earth in some systems. Hope that helps.
