dunspro
Hi, Has anyone else experienced problems with downloading Scantronic 85EN panels. The answering machine defeat doesn't work & the panel answers on the number of rings programmed divided by about 3. I've had a visit from Scantronic's training manager who noticed the same fault & it happened on his test unit too. There's been no answer to emails for an update, do these panels all have a common fault? Ah, sorry just got it. Yes, it is programmed fine. Local works 100%, it's only when dialing in. hpotter
First I'd better take back the "no none" & say "none that I'm aware of" before I shoot my mouth off again. I've spoken to scanny tech & had a play myself & (Royal) we reckon it's a timing issue. If you go into downloader, account manager click on the panel youre working on. In amongst the panel type/account name on the same tab you should see "first dial duration" - default 10. Choose a lower value and try again (scanny said try 9, then 8 etc - I wacked in 7 no probs). Let us know how you get on, messin on a bench aint like being on site & would be grateful for feedback. Can't speak for Scannie but that's always resolved the issue on Menvier panels (basically same board diff 'prog') Link to comment https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/28367-scantronic-85en-ans-machine-defeat-problems/#findComment-235249 Share on other sites

Cant say had any issues but then cant think of a site with 85/95EN that shares a line & udl. dunspro
I am doubtful that it's a downloader sw issue because it is also a problem even if you simply dial into the panel from a telephone. I've got a panel on my bench now which is programmed to answer on 20 rings with ans mach defeat enabled. The panel answers on the 7th ring whether you make a double call or not. I've had Murray from Scantronic here & he said they're working on it but that was 3 weeks ago & I've heard nothing since. hpotter
Have you tried the above? Hows it work with ring back? Link to comment https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/28367-scantronic-85en-ans-machine-defeat-problems/#findComment-235257 Share on other sites
dunspro
Ringback works OK, there is no problem with connection, only the number of rings to answer. Guest RJBsec
If using ringback on the Menvier I was told that it should be set to answer on 199 rings - is that an option on the scannie?
