Bought a Galaxy 16 box and pad from Ebay recently and inside the box we have, besides the main cpu board, a relay board and this item. Can anyone tell me what this board is for?

It a rio(zone expander) to accomodate zone 9 to 16 for galaxy16.

That's called a RIO (Remote Input/Output)

It will expand your G16 by another 8 zones and 4 outputs. The Galaxy 16 will only take one of these RIOs, hence the "16".

Just connect it's + - A B connections to the + - A B connections on the right hand edge of the board on your panel.
