Galaxy 8 Reset

Featured Replies

Hi,

First post, so please go easy on me. I also understand that as this is not a trade forum so you may not be able to answer my question. I am an experienced electronics engineer, so I feel I am quite capable of the below (but feel free to tell me otherwise)!

Having recently purchased a new house a friend asked me to help him install a Galaxy 8 which he had purchased (the board is ex National Installer, Yellow/Blue with 3 letters!). Having obtained relevant engineers manuals I set about this on Saturday.

*************************

So, as it is useless without a reset (it looks nice on his wall though, and at least I am proud of the quality of the job!), I was wandering whether somebody could tell me if Ademco made a special version of the board for said National Installer which removed this facility; or do I just have the wrong manual?

The enclosure is marked as a Galaxy 8 CP171, and the board has a revision level of 0.9 according to the etching. I also can't see any backup battery on the board - so is the info stored in NVM?

If anybody could either answer my question about is it a special board for XXX, or ****************, I would be very very grateful indeed (I'll buy tea / beer!)

Thanks in advance.

Craig.

I think you may be in for a disappointment. No doubt you'll get the definitive answer shortly.
