Texecom Verita Excel - Problems

Hi,

I found this site whilst trying to understand what's wrong with the alarm system at our place.

We have a Texecom Veritas Excel and it's been giving us some trouble.

A couple of months back I had problems with the battery, the panel wouldn't communicate with the main unit a new battery fixed it.

Since then I've only used the system a handful of times but the other day I got home and couldn't disarm the system, I may have used the wrong code once or maybe twice but even with the correct code I couldn't disarm it.

I have a maintenance contract with a local firm but they seem to think the system is beyond repair but won't tell me why, simply that 'these things go wrong sometimes'. Before I spend a packet on getting them to fit a new system I'd like to know what might be wrong with the existing kit!

Can anyone help?
