MarkLeddy
I have a Texecom premier 48 which started to show signs of low voltage across the whole network. The incident follws a couple of stormy days where our rural power supply failed briefly a few times and I think that might ber a clue to what's happened. I checked across a few things and this is where I am at: Nothing in the way of warning messages at all on the keypad displays. (I twigged to the problem when the prox fobs needed to be held very close to the most distant remote keypad to get them to work) Network voltage is around 10.0V, the back up batter voltage around 11.7V and turning the mains power supply on or off does not alter either voltage reading. (It does however then alert to "mains power off"). All panel fuses are fine. The transformer humms as usual when mains power is on and the leads from that to the main PCB show 19V AC when the mains power is on and zero when off. If you leave the mains power on and disconnect the backup batter bank the panel goes dead. So I'm concluding something is wrong with the system between the AC coming in to the main PCB and where it becomes a DC supply to charge the now draining backup batteries and the main panel. Anybody any ideas? I'm guessing something has gone in the main PCB but is this an "order replacement" situation or is it a repair? As ever any thoughts much appreciated. antinode
Try disconnecting the battery and measure your auxillary voltages then. What readings are you getting from bell hold off and detector supplies? Presumably around 10 volts aswell? Sticking a new battery in the panel will possibly bump the voltage back up to above 12v, but it sounds like you may need a new panel. barooga
As above from Antinode. It may possibly be a duff battery though and it is simply dragging down the psu. The back up batteries were changed earlier this year when it was serviced but I can swap just to keep things held together whilst I get a new PCB ordered. Tried rebooting earlier - no change. Thanks for the advice.
