Sorry Angus, I thought you were asking how I tested the strobe. The control box isn't specific as to what the fault is, it just has an orange light illuminated with fault printed on the lid next to it. There is no explanation of what type of fault could occur, this single led is either on or off. Unfortunatly for me its on at the moment. I'm going to try the sequence that arfur mo explained in his last post.

There is no explanation of what type of fault could occur

According to the manual, the fault light will illuminate due to one or more of the following conditions:

Blown bell fuse

Blown Auxiliary fuse

No mains supply

Are all of your detectors lighting up OK? Does your bell box work other than the strobe light? (ie sounds when you test it, warning LEDs still flashing)?

POWER IT DOWN TOTALLY

CONNECT MAINS

CONNECT NEW BATTERY

CLOSE ALL OPEN LIDS ETC

PRESS RESET ( CHECK LIDS IF IT DOESNT RESET FIRST TIME )

All detectors light up and the bell box works. I found 3 fuses in the control box which were all ok. I couldnt find a fuse in the bell box but it went off as soon as I removed the cover, glad I remembered to put my ear defenders on. The leds are still flashing. The mains light on the control box is illuminated when power is going to the unit.
