Hi, my C@K Securitech Alarm system seems to be playing up.

The first thing I did was to replace the Yuasa 12V 2.8 battery at the control panel.

I'm not quite sure how it all transpired but the Alarm system seems to be working OK except for the fact that the internal sounder inside the Keypad is silent giving no audible signals as to what's happening.

Might the little sounder unit on the board be faulty or is there some procedure to turn it on and off?

Any ideas?

PS Can a new Keypad be bought if necessary?

My system may be about 10 - 12 years old.

Are there any lights lit on the keypad? It may be that the system needs powering down/up. However, I would recommend getting a local company in to invetigate as the system probably needs servicing.

I had a 700l do something similar recently and required powering down/up as no lights were lit on the keypad. The system had failed due to a 10 year old battery that had overheated. New battery and power down sorted it.
