Scantronic 9500

Featured Replies

Has anyone any information on either of the ports on the scantronic 9500.

It has two ports: -

1. The printer port

2. A computer mimic I/O port

I want to connect a computer graphic system and scantronic have no information.

Is this normal?

Does anyone have any information?

Steve.

The 9500 is pretty old and doesnt meet any of the new standards. Whilst it may seem a good project there are many more alarm control panels on the market that can be controlled by PC and do have many advanced features.

There probably isnt anyone left at Scantronic who can remember the panel!

Personally I think you are just creating work for yourself trying to expand this old system. My advice... go and have a look at www.texe.com or www.ademcomicrotech.co.uk

The printer port was a standard centronics port that could only be used to print out panel details and event logs etc.. The other port was for future use that never took off. As Dale said this panel is really old and not worth bothering with. There are only a handful of New spares left in the country.

Dump this idea and go with Dales suggestions....
