Guest wesail
I am looking for a quad CCTV unit that can connect to a laptop via USB or FireWire and allow the user to see all four inputs live at the same time. Anyone know where I could find such an item...? Thanks, Dave Link to comment https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/1399-help/ Share on other sites
Guest Andyp
There are CCTV digital recorders around that have a network cable (RJ45) connection. You then view the cameras through your web browser or the supplied software. Does it have to be a USB or firewire connection for any reason? Guest wesail
Well, I'm not sure. What I'm trying to accomplish is a 4 input preview monitor for for my video system which typically has 2 IMAG cameras, 1 VCR & 1 DVD and I want to be able to monitor/preview all four inputs on one laptop screen. Very rarely do I ever have highspeed access to the net, and I dont that would be very practicle for a live show application. Guest Sparks
If all you want to do on the monitor is display a quad, then a normal quad and a TV card with a composite video input should do the trick! http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/products/in...roduct_uid=8976 Has a composite video input Link to comment https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/1399-help/#findComment-7345 Share on other sites
Guest Andyp
You dont need access to the net, just use a RJ45 crossover lead direct into the laptop from the digi.
