cyberdog
Hi, My father has just bought an Optima Compact G3 alarm Panel, which I fitted for him the other day. He had an existing external sounder which works ok. However when I connect it to the bell output on the panel it will not work when the alarm is triggered. I have tested the bell output contacts with a meter and it does not show any output voltage when triggered. I am thinking it could be a programming problem, or I am missing something simple. Can anyone help? Thanks Link to comment https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/11985-optima-compact-g3-panel-help/ Share on other sites

If you can supply the sounder/bell make and model (and connection labels) someone here may be able to tell you what goes to what. cyberdog
To test the output voltage... you should be looking for 13 volts between any positive connection and the bell trigger connection. If not, maybe you have blown a fuse. From experience, I would ay the most likely thing is you have connected the bell incorrectly. Paul Hi, All the fuses are ok. When you say "ANY" positive connection and the bell triger, does the bell not have to go on the + - for the bell on the circuit board. Hi, The sounder is a bog standard + - electronic sounder. However he has now been and bought the alarm box complete which is compatible with the alarm panel, so I should be able to just fit it connect all the wires and bingo, I hope. So thanks to all for your help. However their is one more problem. The instruction for programming two zones (one for night and one for day) is not very user friendly. Can anyone easily explain how I program the night zone for this panel.
