Gees
Hi Guys. I have a galaxy 18 here at home. I am wondering what the speaker connection is for on the alarm panel just above the tamper loop? If I connect a speaker it emits a tone all the time!! Has it anthing to do with walk testing? I am not a professional alarm engineer ( I do IT servicing and networking ) but have worked in the electronics industry for 40 years.... ( Yes I am an old F*** ) I have all the codes ( including Engineer ) and can set everything else but the walk test produces no sounds at all? Gees
if your speaker output is sounding all the time during day mode it is one of 2 thingsYour spk output has been reprogrammed to be something other than a spk ie set, spare etc or there is something seriously wrong. I also assume you are wiring a speaker in and not a sounder? And yes the 'horn' as it is acalled on gals should sound during walktest if there are any circuits open, if not it should be silent I will check it out ... I am indeed connecting a speaker !!! I will have to delve into the setup a bit deeper methinks? Gees
Just had another go at it but all seems OK !! Test menu option "horn off and on" makes no difference. I have checked the output settings but cannot find any reference to the horn output setting? Gees
Entry exit horn tests are ok (on and off) Its the speaker that sounds all the time. Gees
The panel came to me having been powered down for a while. The //.No Default Codes, or defaulting instructions are given in the public forums.// code(s) where active when I powered the thing up. I have not changed any settings that I was not sure of.. As a final try... where is the option to set the horn output ??? I hope this didn't break the forum rules.. Gees
Yes it was BLANK... date/time everything back to zero. I will leave the speaker dissconected as the system is 100% apart from that.. tinnitus
Is the walk test issue sorted? you have to put individual zones on test by using the hash key or all of them using the star key.
