cjd
I've just managed to get hold of another keypad to add to my galaxy 60 panel that I installed at my scout campsite; I added it last weekend with no problems - all 3 keypads working fine. I went up there earlier today to find that there was no display or power lights on any of them - i thought that maybe the meter had run out of money (we're on credit meters) - checked this and there was enough credit - checked the panel and the 2Aux" fuse had blown. replaced it and the keypads bleeped adn bleeped with **'s on all the displays - no power light on any of them. Disconnected the last one i added and the displays came back on as did the power lights. put it back on an it all went again. This keypad was working for the entire week before the money ran out last night, the group on site said that the keypads were bleeping after they put the money back in the meter but there was no display on any of them. Does anyone out there have any ideas as to what's happened to my alarm system - have reset the memory in the hope that it would solve the problem put it didn't!! is the panel ready for the bin?? HELP!!!!!!! Link to comment https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/11289-panel-problem/ Share on other sites

cjd
Check the keypad addresses, should all be different. not sure how there could be a conflict with the keypad as it has been working for just over a week. Will check the keypad setting is correct. Am I right in assuming the keypads should be connected "daisy chain" style, i.e. keypad "0" to keypad "1" to keypad "2" etc.?? if so is there anything else I should be doing? any alterations to the panel etc?? antinode
Yep sounds like duff keypad. Could be water in the keypad, if that's a remote possiblilty? Seems funny it was OK for a week. See how much current it's drawing, should'nt be much higher than the manufacturer's spec. Was it an "eBay special"?
