every change of tenancy requires an electrical inspection,
every cert will document the the no. of mains powered smoke detectors,
IIRC battery only complies with the some recent landlord regs but not with the building reg ?

I will get a photo of the detector tomorrow with a little luck.
Smoke detector is battery operated and not connected to the mains.

If that's what the flashing 8 means . How do I identify what zone 8 is ?
Norman asked if a smoke detector is linked. There is a smoke detector however I don't know if it is linked . How could I discover if it is.
Thanks for the interest by the way.

When I use the code, the alarm seems to set properly. When i use the code followed by # , the upper number 8 continues to flash.

Nothing happens . The upper number 8 continues to flash after the code # is pressed.

Sussed out the security code . External light seems to have stopped flashing however the upper number 8 on the keypad is flashing. What does this mean?

Thanks Norman , but as I stated in the original post neither the tenant nor the owner (landlord) know or remember the user code.

Tenanted flat where outside alarm box flashing. number 8 illuminated on upper set of numbers on keypad. Neither owner nor tenant can recall security code. Any help or advice welcome.

Thanks for the advice again but this is an existing tenant . The smoke alarm has nowt to do with my problem although it has brought to my attention the need for a regular simple test.
