  1. hi guys, i received my co detector, 2 x pirs and 2 x keyfobs this morning. i have coded the keyfobs to each button within the engineers menu, so everything is all good with key fobs now. i will try and sort out the pir's at a later time however, i have the risco co detector and have tested it with new batteries but it bleeps every so often with the service light showing. any ideas what this means as i cant seem to find the instructions for the co detector online via google. thanks cammy
  2. the proper reply i was looking for -> smiley face finally we get somewhere guys.... and a thumbs up from me -> thumbs up! why doesnt any emoticons show up on the forum or did i miss something -> confused face are we aloud bad words on this forum? lol
  3. @data fusion - ok before im hung, drawn & quartered on here, i get what you said in your first post. what i didnt understand was if i broke a keyfob (hypathetically speaking) the only way i could replace it would be to contact the manufacturer direct for them to keycode my remote and send it out? meaning that no alarm distributers or alarm companies could do the honours on their behalf, this seems ridiculous imo. you didnt give me an explanation on why? @james wilson - that shouldve been your answer first time around instead of being a smart a$$ and i didnt say you were wrong :/ @mr happy - do you know mr angry??? @yeti - this might be a good reply for you but to us novices a better description to follow the reply of... you can order Risco remotes via the magic of the interwebs with extra info like.... try risco website here -> and your correct .....no other remotes will not work with your alarm system because.... and if you cant find any links here is one here -> and i give thumbs up instead of the middle finger lol i like a bit of tongue and cheek i apologise for saying that you didnt help but a more specific answer to my question wouldve made things easier. so lets recap.... you cant use or buy any 3rd party remote control fobs to work on my risco. i can buy the original key fobs from the manufacturer or alarm company and get an alarm engineer to code them for me, is this correct? cammy
  4. i wasnt trying to be a smart a$$ with my comment and with a reply like that, how on earth do you think this helps people like me or anyone else with similar issues, reading this. @peter james - dont understand your terminology for old txer :/ @james wilson if we were only as smart as you we could all answer with one liners but im not a comedian! it was a decent reply to a vague reply! and still no further forward with childish like replies that followed suit. i thought this was a forum for help, how wrong was i, which in turn asks WHAT IS THE POINT OF THIS FORUM if you are not going to help! cammy
  5. that doesnt really make sense! what would happen if you broke your remote by accident, and a local supplier did not have these? the only means would be to contact the manufacturer direct and i dont think they would be travelling to your house to personally key code them. im assuming that there must be an option within the engineers settings to recode the remotes.....is this correct? cammy
  6. hi guys, now that i have my alarm up and running thanks to this forum and a push in the right direction. i now need to buy a remote control fob as im getting lazy with the constant button pressing of activating and deactivating alarm. so can someone recommend a key fob either via fleabay or other sites that sell them. do i need the original key fobs to match this setup or can i buy a 3rd party with the same 868mhz? and are these easy to setup and programme? thanks in advance cammy
  7. will need to test it all tomorrow all going well its a job well done ooosssshhh!!!! cammy
  8. its ok i fixed the problem via the engineers menu under system/parameters and reset the tamper settings...all good. if you google the installation manual you can find it easy on pdf format if anyone needs the link they can pm me as im sure this cant be posted live via the forum. i wouldve liked the same help in this regard but i can see the security issues involved. anyways thanks for your help cammy
  9. i do have the engineer code as ive accessed the menu for timers, parameters and so on.... whom shall i speak too regarding this datadiffusion? ive doublechecked the seating position of the case on the pir sensor and it seems ok
  10. i did a quick change around with the batteries and the error seems to have transferred from zone 2 (hall) to zone 4 (bedroom) tamp error. is there a way to reset using engineers code as i have that? or access anything else on engineers menu? its weird how this wasnt a problem before all my faults and now that ive reset the faults i have a tamper error in my pir sensors i thought i was getting somewhere. cammy
  11. can i program it or it is it engineer only. i dont mind trying and if i fail then i can get an engineer out. i do appreciate help on this matter but i would love to try and figure it out myself so i have a better understanding of my home alarm, even if i do waste several hours trying if its strictly engineer only then i have no choice. i have got this far just didnt think the zone 2 hall pir tamp error was stopping me from activating alarm. can you answer one question please why is it that my alarm sets when i set omit zone in the de/activate setting and set each zone to 'yes' on my panel it shows the yellow led for omit and then starts the count down :/ cammy
  12. i havent had it serviced since i moved into house last year but ive replaced the batteries myself as this was the easy part as for sensors ive no idea but its strange that my hall pir was fine until i replaced the battery now it says tamp but it doesnt show up on faults menu :/ as for programming, are these hard to do or straight forward or will i need the engineers code for this?
  13. hi, yes ive now replaced batteries and im now showing no faults. before i replaced batteries i did not enter the code in the panel as i just removed battery from the external alarm and pressed the reset button when i replaced the dud ones. the problem i have now is that i dont have any faults but it says partition 1 is not ready and that zone 2 has a tamp error on the voice message. the only way i can set the alarm is to activate all the zones in the omit menu :/ im not sure if the alarm works as ive not tested this yet but i did try the maintenance tests and the outside siren doesnt work :/ i know the speaker works fine as when i remove the cover it blasts away. hope this makes sense and sorry for the vague description. cammy
  14. nope. do i need to open up the main alarm box to cut power supply? when i turn off all the electricity it remains on, so im assuming there is a backup battery installed. the only way my alarm sets is if i set omit zone in the de/activate setting and set each zone but i still have the faults flashing. im obviously doing something wrong. i dont understand why there is an AC fault, when there is power :/
  15. hi guys, im having problems with me resetting my alarm after replacing batteries in the main external alarm outside. i have set the alarm via the omit zone setting but it displays fault codes with lounge pir lost: N and bedroom pir lost : N and ac loss fault: N i dont know how to reset these any ideas? cameron
