hi, its a technicolour TG582n_ I'm trying to follow the guide on portforward.com but I don't understand the part about setting a static ip for my device, I've got a static IP from my ISP, do I not just use that?
-
UPDATE..... I cannot do this port forwarding, I've tied and tried, watched videos on youtube received help off you guys and spent endless hours researching, I just cannot get my head around it! I've now got a static IP address but its as much use to me as a medium rare fillet steak is to a vegetarian!
If anybody would like to guide me through setting this up step by step I'm happy to pay you for your time! its very very close to hammer time for this dvr, its becoming the blight of my life.

Thanks petrolhead, I'll give it a bash tomorrow. my head feels like its gonna erxplode tonight lol. I'll let you know how I get on

Ive managed to open up the 3 ports but still don't know what to do! aaaaaarrrrrggghhh I keep watching youtube videos to no avail haha

is that the HIKDDNS?

thanks for everybody's input, I've never set one up for port forwarding so I'm doing my research. all a bit confusing to be honest!
I'm going to ring my isp tomorrow and see if I can get a static IP address, this seems the easiest option, unless there are any other suggestions?
Thanks.

Just use the dvrs built in hiddns.
I am doing but when the push notification comes through its trying to link back through my home network which is fine when I'm at home but as soon as I'm off my network it just won't work

Hi guys thanks for the replies, I'm not really clued up on port forwarding, do I need to pay for a ddns and if so could anybody recommend one please?
Is there no straight forward apps with alarm notification that would just work through cloud please?
Thanks again, I really appreciate your help

Notifications go through the cloud server but the live view link connects through traditional port forwarding so you need to properly setup port forwarding and ddns, or when you get a notification login through the cloud link for live view.
Yes its the home wifi network, it's doing the same on a couple more systems too

you can view it remotely through the hikvision cloud account perfetectly fine its just the playback function or live view function through the alarm notification don't work when off the home wifi network

First of all hi guys! I'm new to this forum and came across it after searching for hours and hours to sort my problem out! still no luck though....
If anybody could point me in the right direction I'd be eternally grateful,
I have a hikvision 7204 dvr and ivms-4500 app on my phone, it works fine for remote viewing both on my home network and also through cloud(ezviz)
the motion detection works fine and notifys me on my phone, I can click on the notification and view live view/ remote playback fine when I'm on my home network but if I'm out and get an alarm notification if I click on remote playback or live view (through the alarm notification) it comes up with connection error.
Its really really frustrating me and any help would be appreciated so much!
Thanks in advance,
Andy

Hi everybody, I'm Andy a security installer from west Yorkshire. been out of the game for a few years but just starting back up and getting my head around the new tech.
I came across this forum whilst looking for a solution to a problem I have. I still haven't found the answer but I shall keep looking before bothering anybody:)

I've managed to set a ddns up through hikvision and registered the username on the dvr too but if I try to log on via the hikvision Web address it just takes me to my router screen
