  1. Thanks all for your replies and support. At the very last point of me throwing the towel in I went to site again, deleted the port forwarding setup in the router and re entered the settings and it all fell into place. No idea why this changed it but customer now a happy bunny and me just a little bit more grey on top.
  2. I don't know if the p2p is still available I have no info on that. what is odd is that there is only a two digit space to enter a port number. Port 80 is used by default but I understood this was an http for use on the lan only? there is no other option to enter any other port numbers anywhere else. ddns is set up using dynds, I have pinged the port which comes back as open. Just about to give up and suggest a new dvr. i imagine there must have been an install disk with the p2p info on etc. but that is long gone.
  3. no its set to static ip . we are able to view ok over the network. it must be set to static because the external ip is dynamic.
  4. Hi All just a bit more info about this DVR. I have seen a screen shot of an Xvision dvr that is very similar. We now have access via the local network. This is now the issue. In networking there is a box that requires a ' KEY ' entering this is something to do with P2P setup for remote access. with nothing in the box, press enable and p2p fail comes up. Any idea what this key may be and where we may get it. Thanks all.
