  1. The previous owner lost the codes, so the alarm doesn't work anymore. The display is flickering meaningless segments. It's obviously faulty. I'll have to get the control panel changed.
  2. Thanks. Its there any way to disable that external wall alarm? You can send me an email.
  3. I don't know how to reset the system. It's all new to me. What puzzels me is that the external alarm is active even when neither mains or battery was present. Where does the alarm on the external wall gets its power from? I guess there must be a battery inside the unit.
  4. I've moved into a new house, and there is a Gardtec 500 series alarm panel installed. The LED display is flickering, and the previous owner said it could be the battery inside that's old and he has lost the reset code. When I disabled the mains, and removed the battery, the external alarm went active and only disabled when I reconnect the battery. Am I right that the external alarm has a battery inside, and it becomes active when the controller is disabled as a tamper proof feature? I am worried when the battery in the alarm panel dies completely, the external alarm would be active continuously and I would not be able to disable it. I have the following options : - Call an alarm engineer to replace the controller - Replace the battery myself, but without the reset/engineer code, the panel would still be inoperative Any advise would be helpful.
