  1. I have not got a clue, can you recommend a good cable to use?
  2. Turns out it was poor quality coax, I used a bnc to bnc connector to connect the camera straight to the dvr and it was fine. can anyone recommend some good coax? I have been told to use belden cable? No run will be longer than 25-30mtrs. Thanks Dan
  3. No it was from a company on the internet, link to dvr and company is earlier in the thread.
  4. Does anyone think it could be **** cable???? I purchased a pre-made 10m length of cctv cable with video and power, could this be causing this issue???
  5. I have tried al channels and they are all the same, and yes it is set to pal. The shop are going to pick it up with my camera and see what's wrong, I will let you know the out come.
  6. I only have 1 camera at this point in time, I wanted to check its picture quality before a purchased the rest.
  7. Here is a link to the machine I purchased http://www.cctvfirst.co.uk/vguard-8-channel-hd-sdi-full-hd-1080p-standalone-dvr-p535203.html
  8. Camera settings are not available on analogue and I can access everything on the dvr, it works fine apart from not displaying the camera.
  9. Attached is a couple of pics showing what the dvr displays when the hd-sdi side is connected
  10. Camera works fine if I connect analogue to my tv
  11. My monitor does not have a bnc input, can I use a bnc to rca lead on the analogue side and plug into my tv?
  12. No, if I connect the analogue bnc to the dvr it does nothing.
  13. Well that's what I was worried about the box does not say it is hd-sdi except for a sticker on the side of it but the shop said it is definitely a hd-sdi dvr. If I press the setup jotstick on the camera I can make out some of the words on the setup menu as it flashes but not well enough to mess with, the bloke from the shop said something about frame rate and adjusting the camera frame rate to suit the dvr? does that sound right?
  14. Need a bit of help, I purchased a hd-sdi camera to see what is quality was like, I did get a hd-sdi to hdmi converter but it didn't work so I purchased a dvr to check the camera but it only displays a load of coloured lines across the channel 1 box, I have spoke to the shop who I bought the dvr from and he said I have to adjust the camera settings on the little joystick attached to the camera but how can I do this if I cant see what it says on the screen. I don't know if the dvr is **** or the camera is playing up, any help would be much appreciated? thanks Dan
