  3. Thanks for this option - regarding the keypad if we install in the cupboard will we still have wireless keyfob access to enter/exit the house. Don't like the thought of running upstairs on entry to enter a code to turn off.... Thanks for this - yes I think I need to price this option up, but I agree it looks good and like the thought of "mesh wireless technology"
  4. Hello everyone, I've been reading you fantastic site, and hope you can also help me, I'm looking for a new alarm..... Current Setup I've just moved into a house with an old alarm. From what I've been told my current alarm has two parts... Wired - About 15 window sensors are wired through to a mains connected Gartec 800 alarm panel, the external bell is also connected back to here. Wireless - 3 wireless PIRs, and a wireless keypad are connected through to a mains ADT Honeywell Dominial alarm. This in turn connects back to the Gartec, and also links to a phone line. Requirements Given the age of the setup I've decided to replace, I would like to install the new alarm myself but I do have an electrician on hand who will assist with any mains/external work. My requirements are as follows... Wireless alarm Support for 6 wireless PIRs, Alarm will be used by 2 people Don't have any pets Require 1 front door connector I would like IP connectivity and maybe later on GSM connectivity. I don't think I would want a separate keypad on the wall as I understand this would have to be wired to the mains or back to the panel. I want to have the least wires as possible. Regarding day to day operation. Entering the house - I take it once we enter the house we use some remote control to press a key to disarm. As the control panel will be located upstairs it will be too far away to get to hence the need for a remote device. Exiting the house - I'm assuming when we leave the house we will use the same remote control to arm. That's it. hope I've covered it all....btw I'm assuming the existing Wireless PIRs that I have will not be able to connect to the new system. So can you recommend a decent alarm fro me please.....and thanks in advance for any assistance , I look forward to your recommendations. .
