Just been to a customers system, and they have a avtech dvr. Shows no hard drive.

Have opened it up, and its got a 500gb seagate hdd. Screws look although someones been in there before.

Drive is dead as a duck. I can warranty it with seagate, however I cant seem to find any replacement drives at reasonable prices (IDE drives seem to be in very short supply !).

Anyone tried using one of the sata converters, and putting a sata drive in there ?.

Of am I flogging a dead horse, and its cheaper and better to get a new dvr ?

Sata converters have varied results and simply be more trouble.

Flog him a new DVR imo, as its IDE its probably quite old now anyways.
