Guest alanp
I am planning to fit a domestic alarm to my caravan. As part of the installation, I intend fittling a tilt/inertia sensor which would detect someone trying to hitch up the 'van (tilt) or tow it away (inertia). A mercury switch would fulfil both criteria. I could get one from Maplin but I would have to make some kind of housing for it. I would rather have a purpose made one. Does anyone know of a manufacturer/supplier of such (perhaps with built in anti-tamper.) Also, there are kits available for caravans which have corner steady sensors (which detect someone winding up the legs prior to towing away.) How do these work? Could I adapt a magnetic switch or microswitch to detect leg movement? Thanks in advance for all replies.
