Guest Sparks
Hi, Is it normal for an external speaker, connected to an XNode, to sound full volume when a circuit is violated during exit (DEE-DAA-DEE-DAA), then follow the pot on the xnode when all ccts are healthy (beeeeeeeeeeeeeep)? I have two external speakers in the house, one connected to RKP1 off of XNODE1 This stays at the lower volume (Set on the pot in the RKP) all the time (Except on full alarm I guess) the other speaker is connected to XNODE1 directly - This has the "feature" described above (The zone that get's violated is connected to this same node). Anyway to stop it doing this - or shall I connect the offending speaker to the panel! Thanks! Guest Sparks
I just thought sod it, I will try and connect it to the panel (it's right next to the XNODE afterall!) The panel speaker output seems to be making a higher pitched sound to all the other speakers! - changing the volume control in 4-8 doesn't seem to be making any differance either! I assume this is not normal behaviour! Guest
You say seems, a bit more description might help. Link to comment https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/13261-menvier-xnode-volume/#findComment-128763 Share on other sites
Guest Sparks
It's as if the pitch has been shifted up a bit on the panel speaker terminals, compared to the XNODE and RKP speakers - the "soft" volume control in engineers menu 4-8 is not making any differance at all either. Guest
have you tried swapping sounders? Not to be insulting but switch one "known" to the "suspect" Link to comment https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/13261-menvier-xnode-volume/#findComment-128777 Share on other sites

Guest
It sounds fine, change the LS Link to comment https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/13261-menvier-xnode-volume/#findComment-128781 Share on other sites
Guest Sparks
Okay, I have completed some more testing and.... Both speakers work fine when connected to a keypad. If any speaker is connected to any XNode (I tried 2) (and that XNode is assigned to the appropriate ward) it behaves differently to when it is connected to a keypad. When the continuous exit tone is sounding, the volume is correctly following the pot in the XNode, however, if a zone is tripped whilst exiting (Like the exit/entry door, or any PIR on route) the high/low tone is at full volume (Which is REALLY loud!). - when the speaker is connected to the keypad, this same tone follows the pot in the keypad. If any speaker is connected to the panel, the pitch is shifted up, compared to if the speaker is connected to the keypads or and XNode, and the software volume control in the engineers menu doesn't change the volume. All seems a bit odd to me... Link to comment https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/13261-menvier-xnode-volume/#findComment-129091 Share on other sites

Are all final exit/exit route detectors programmed as Access?
