It seemed like friendly banter
That keypad looks like an Orisec mk-700

I had no need to splash out on the fancy models, nor the touch screen version

Oi I don't fit wireless
Both mine and my mom's are wired.
My alarm, The Orisec, had a WiFi card fitted so I can control it from my phone and away from home, it can be upgraded with another module to allow wireless sensors to be added at a later date too.

Who fitted it? Logan security?
My Orisec was from county security and electrical services. My mom's veritas alarm was from someone from Cannock, who was my brothers neighbour. Don't have the paperwork to hand to list the company name.

im sorry for your health issues but feel it needs saying that 2009 isnt fairly new, fairly new would be 2018
That's fair enough, my house alarm was from 2001 so it still felt new to me, mine was also working fine until last year until the PCB failed, now it's been replaced by Orisec cp20

My brother replaced the battery about a week after the alarm went off during a power cut, that is what indicated the battery needed replacing. Due to the alarm going off we disconnected power from the panel by taking out the fuse from the fused spur (I think that's the correct name) When we fitted a new battery we found the panel had reset as the user code had defaulted back to #### That's when I got the manual and looked at what needed to be done.
The panel is fairly new, the alarm was fitted in 2009 but around 2014 the engineer moved away from the area and didn't give us the code so when it was due to be serviced nothing could be done, so my uncle brought a new identical panel and replaced it just to bypass that issue.
I've been unwell with a chest infection so not been back over to shorten the timer yet.

This can't be changed or altered unless you set the time to 10 seconds or less
I will try reducing the time then because I'm sure it used to make the noise when we walked into the hallway.
Thank you

The entry tone will be clicking until the last 10 seconds when you get a audible beep
This is the issue we are having, when the hallway zone is triggered (setup as entry/exit), there is a singular very quiet click, and then it stays silent (no clicking) up until the external bell goes off after around 30 seconds.
It seems like the entry tone should be playing or atleast something (constant clicks not just the one) to indicate the alarm is counting down.
Next time I'm over I can take a video and upload it if that helps.

FYI - I've followed the manual (physical copy which we still have) which is the same as this online copies

Hi,
Battery needed to be replaced on my mom's control unit, however by the time this was done, it had reset itself to factory defaults. I've reconfigured the zone types, and omitted zone 2 (landing) for part set. Everything is PIR, there are no door contracts. And everything is working, but..
In full set mode, When entering the house, zone 1 (hallway) is triggered, entry tone starts as expected and you can turn the alarm off before it activates.
However, in part set mode, When coming downstairs into zone 1 (hallway). The keypad makes a single click, instead of the entry tone. Then after around 10 seconds it starts an entry tone shortly followed by the alarm going off.
I've tried changing zone types, entry/exit timeouts, triggering from different zones and it's the same. Full set has an entry tone, part set has no entry tone. There is an option to silent set part mode for exit, but no setting for entry.
In the meantime I've disabled the upstairs landing, and she uses full set for leaving the house and at night, so it plays the entry tone in all circumstances.
Can anyone tell me what I am missing to have the entry tone play in part set?
I found the topic below that seemed to indicate this is intended behaviour but I used to live here 12 years ago and my mom is also adamant the entry tone worked in part set mode too prior to the battery replacement. The entry tone is important as she'll forget to turn the alarm off before walking into another room.

Feeling like a pro alarmist by recognizing the keypad
I just remembered the style when looking though the available options. Firstly pick what I need, then what the wife will visually find acceptable.
Orisec seems really good, but I think there android app could do with a UX designer and some TLC. Same with the touchscreen keypad, they still look dated, IMO anyway.
