Guest
Some panels have "electrical fuses" that just limit the current draw. in that case i just change the detector. otherwise i remove correspondent fuse but leave the panel itself alive. ian.cant
How do the Pro's do it? To the sound of bells sirens and buzzers B) Its always advisable to not work on anything that is live, electrically speaking. I would suggest its best to remove the relevant fuse or isolate the relevant supply, then make your connections, restore the power and Bobs your uncle so to speak. Reality is when dealing with low voltages (12v dc or 24v ac) we are most likely to do it live, but thats because we do do this every day of every week etc........ My advice is do it with power removed, safer all round.
djrock
To the sound of bells sirens and buzzers What about strobes? My advice is do it with power removed, safer all round. Remove the 240 volts from the panel or just to remove the fuse or the wires that supplies the 12 volt to the pir's? I would probability remove the positive wire of the pir i am working on. thankyou djrock

djrock
Hi, I think I will keep the panel alive. Unless its advisable to remove all power from it. What are the signs of the panel being alive when there
