antinode Posted February 21, 2005 Share Posted February 21, 2005 I've got hold of a few relays rated 240v AC on the contacts and 12v DC on the coil and I'm thinking of using one to switch on a halogen floodlight via the intruder output on a Galaxy panel. Would there be any problems with EMF, as the alarm trigger wire and mains supply wire (fused spur from the lighting supply) will both be close to each other in the relay box? I don't think the relays are sheilded either. Of course I'll be using a diode across the relay coil, but what about induced AC and all that?
