ryan2323
Hi all, I have a Visonic Powermax Alarm System for my home. After 3 years use I had the error code appear saying Z02 Low battery. I googled the issue and found , "Z01/Z02 etc - Refers to a battery fitted in a magnetic contact or PIR detector etc." I ordered the exact battery (GP Lithium CR2) from Amazon and after operating as normal for a day, the error code has come back again - Z02. Has anyone else had similar experiences with these alarms and can point me in the right direction?
sixwheeledbeast
Systems need servicing, batteries don't last forever. I would replace all the device batteries if it's been that long, even if only one is showing. Do you know what device Z02 is, sensors are CR123. james.wilson
Also never use cheap nasty batteries if it's reporting low battery, still, chances are it's cheap poor quality batteries Quote securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount. sixwheeledbeast
Agreed they do fail with age and it is old one-way stuff, so weak security for low risk. Still would expect battery fault to clear at least for a week or so with a faulty device.

Hundreds of Rapthor no issues, liked the packaging best ! I say the best quality lithium's batteries are GP, However I suspect the best & worst could well be the same stuff made in the same factory ? sixwheeledbeast
If you don't turn over loads of them to pick out the bad explody ones. Then look for UL listed then you know they meet a safe standard.
norman
For different applications my go to has always been GP, they were also ADTs preferred, but I guess that will have also been due to price and kickback. Adi
I have been using panasonic for years, no issues. Had a detector go tits up a couple of weeks ago on a powermax plus, devices no longer available. But before knew replacements were not available, i did mention to the mega money client, might be worth upgrading the system! You know the reply lol. Quote I really can't be ar**** with it anymore. Moto something along with pyronix branded are the normal items. However I'd assumed most of the leading brand won't produce all their product in house ? I agree mate. ..and on a slight tangent, after a call out this week, (and had many issues over the years), is Pyronix's poor choice of wireless bell battery. Trying to F*** firms over with a non standard poxy sized battery, that is not fit for purpose, (thats why they changed the design) (to a just as **** design). They use standard sized CR123 batteries in nearly all their devices, then act a C*** with bell and RKP batts Why not just use CR123 for every device. Standard stock item for any alarm firm. Risco Agility EWD has 5 x cr123... Pyronix 2 x square battery are double the cost but more Ah The round "eve" battery in older pyonix are 40% dearer than the 2 sqaure ones? So from the days of me using risko, one of their plus points was the cr123's in the bell. Obviously Pyronix designers couldnt the current draw down enough. Like you say with the pricing with pyronix battery prices, proper piss take. I have just been looking at another easy and cheap way to replace their pants down battery (I have looked into it before) but reckon i am close to a solution, so long as i can get a 10 CR123 battery holder in the bell housing. You only need 8 CR123 batteries to equal a pants down battery, but in this day and age, i think its reasonable that a bell battery should last two years, or even replace bell batt yearly with five cr123's. But not twenty quid roger my **** that can not last two years and still have some umff to ring the bell. I am sure tech said you can only have 4 two minute bell activations in two years, WTF. I have been meaning to post, is anyone using Ajax? Quote I really can't be ar**** with it anymore.
